Mileage Correction
Is mileage correction legal in the UK?
Yes, completely. Adjusting a digital odometer is legal in the UK, and it’s a routine part of everyday garage work β replacement clusters, imports and dash repairs all need the display set correctly. Garages and dealers use services like ours every week, so you can book with complete confidence. If the car is ever sold on, the seller just mentions the correction β and the written confirmation we leave you makes that effortless.
How long does mileage correction take?
Most vehicles are completed in 30β60 minutes at your home or workplace. Cars that need cluster-level (bench) programming can take a little longer β we’ll tell you before we start.
Do you need to remove my dashboard?
Usually not. Most corrections are carried out through the OBD diagnostic socket. Where a vehicle stores its mileage inside the cluster only, we remove the cluster, program it on the bench and refit it β all in the same visit on most models.
Will it leave any trace or damage?
No cutting, soldering or permanent modification is involved on OBD jobs, and bench work is carried out to component-level standards. Your dashboard and trim are refitted exactly as found.
Can you correct mileage on any car?
We cover the vast majority of makes and models, including vehicles where mileage is stored across more than one module. Tell us your registration when you call and we’ll confirm coverage and a fixed price straight away.
How much does mileage correction cost?
Prices depend on the make, model and whether the job is OBD or bench-level. Call 07550 006 999 with your registration and we’ll give you a fixed, no-obligation quote up front.
Instrument Cluster Repair
Is it cheaper to repair or replace an instrument cluster?
Repair, almost every time. A dealer replacement typically runs Β£600βΒ£1,500 once fitted and coded, while a component-level repair of your original unit is usually a fraction of that β and keeps your true mileage and factory coding.
Will repairing my cluster affect the mileage?
No β repairing your original cluster preserves the true stored mileage. That’s one of the big advantages over fitting a second-hand unit, which arrives showing the donor car’s figure and needs professional recalibration.
Which makes do you repair?
All the major brands. We regularly repair clusters for BMW and Mini (pixel and gauge faults), Mercedes (display fade), VW, Audi, SEAT and Ε koda, Peugeot and CitroΓ«n, Vauxhall, Ford, Renault, Jaguar and Land Rover, among others.
How long does a cluster repair take?
Simple faults are often fixed the same day at your address. Bench repairs β where we remove the cluster and work on it properly β are typically turned around within a few days, with removal and refitting included.
Can you fix dead pixels on my display?
Yes. Missing pixels are usually a failing ribbon cable connection rather than a dead screen, and we repair or replace the ribbon and screen components as needed.
My car won’t start and I’ve been told it’s the cluster β can you help?
Very often, yes. On many models the immobiliser talks through the cluster, so a cluster fault can stop the car starting. We diagnose the communication fault first, then repair the cluster rather than replacing and recoding it.
ECU Remapping
Is remapping safe for my engine?
A professionally-written map stays inside the engine’s designed tolerances β the same hardware handles far higher outputs in other markets and models. We tune conservatively for reliability, and your original file is archived so the car can always go back to standard.
How much power will my car gain?
It depends on the engine. Turbocharged diesels typically gain 25β35% more torque, turbocharged petrols 20β30%, and naturally-aspirated engines a more modest 5β10% with improved response. Call with your registration and we’ll quote expected figures for your exact model.
Can a remap really improve fuel economy?
Often, yes β particularly on turbo diesels. Extra mid-range torque means fewer downshifts and less throttle to maintain speed, and dedicated economy maps prioritise MPG over outright power. Your driving style remains the biggest factor.
How long does a remap take?
Usually 1β2 hours at your address. We read and back up the original file, install the new calibration, then road-test and health-check the car before handover.
Will I feel the difference straight away?
Yes β the extra mid-range torque and sharper throttle response are obvious from the first drive, especially when pulling away, overtaking or towing. Most people say the car feels like a bigger engine.
Do you tune vans and 4x4s too?
Absolutely. Vans, pickups and 4x4s respond very well to a torque-focused map β easier loaded driving, better towing and often improved economy on a run. Tell us the vehicle and we’ll quote expected figures.
AdBlue Delete
What causes AdBlue faults in the first place?
The SCR system is complex and sensitive: NOx sensors fail, the AdBlue pump and injector wear out, and the fluid can crystallise and block lines, especially on cars doing lots of short trips. Once one part goes, the system throws warnings and eventually forces a no-restart countdown.
Will an AdBlue delete stop the warnings and limp mode?
Yes β that’s the whole point. We map the SCR system out in software so the warnings, countdowns and limp-mode triggers are gone and don’t come back. Done properly there are no leftover fault codes on the dash.
How much does it cost compared with repairing the AdBlue system?
Usually a fraction of a dealer SCR repair, which can run well over Β£1,000 once parts and labour are added β and a repair can fail again later. A delete is a one-off fixed price we agree before we start. Call with your registration for a quote.
How long does it take and do you come to me?
It’s a mobile job done at your home or workplace anywhere in Surrey, usually completed within the hour through the diagnostic port.
Which vehicles can you do?
The vast majority of AdBlue-equipped diesels β cars, vans and motorhomes across all the major manufacturers. Tell us the make, model and registration and we’ll confirm straight away.
Can it be reversed?
Yes. We archive your original file before making any changes, so the vehicle can be returned to its standard software at any time.
DPF Removal & Cleaning
Should I clean or remove my DPF?
It depends on the filter’s condition. If there’s life left in it, a deep clean restores flow at a fraction of replacement cost. If it’s beyond saving, removal with the software properly recalibrated is the cost-effective route. We’ll tell you honestly which your car needs.
Why is my DPF blocking up?
Usually short journeys and stop-start driving that never let a full regeneration complete, so soot builds up faster than it burns off. Faults elsewhere β like a failing EGR β can accelerate it too.
How much does it cost versus a new DPF?
Far less. A replacement DPF fitted by a dealer often runs well into four figures; our cleaning or removal is a fixed price agreed up front and a fraction of that. Call with your registration for a quote.
Will it stop the limp mode and warning light?
Yes. We clear the fault codes and make sure the warnings and limp-mode triggers are gone, so the car drives normally again.
How long does it take and do you come to me?
It’s mobile, done at your address anywhere in Surrey, and usually takes one to two hours depending on whether we clean or remove.
Which vehicles do you cover?
All the major diesel cars, vans and pickups. Tell us the make, model and registration and we’ll confirm coverage and a price.
EGR Delete
What are the signs of a faulty EGR valve?
Rough or lumpy idling, hesitation when you accelerate, black smoke, poor economy and often limp mode with a warning light. Because the valve feeds soot back into the intake, symptoms tend to get worse over time.
Is it better to clean, replace or delete the EGR?
Cleaning is a temporary fix β the valve sooties up again β and a new valve just resets the same clock. Deleting the valve in software and blanking it off stops the soot path for good, which is why most people choose it.
Will an EGR delete cure the rough running and limp mode?
Yes. Once the valve is mapped out and blanked, the rough running and hesitation clear, the warning light goes out and the limp mode stops.
How much does it cost?
It’s a fixed price agreed before we start, and usually far less than repeated cleaning or a new valve fitted by a dealer. Call with your registration for a quote.
How long does it take and do you come to me?
It’s mobile, carried out at your address anywhere in Surrey, and usually done within the hour.
Which vehicles do you cover?
The major diesel cars, vans and pickups. Tell us the make, model and registration and we’ll confirm.
Car Keys & Spare Keys
Can you make a key if I’ve lost all of them?
Yes. All-keys-lost is a routine job for us β we generate and program a fresh key to your car’s immobiliser even when there’s nothing left to copy. It takes a little longer than a spare, but it’s still done at your door.
Are you really cheaper than a main dealer?
Almost always, and by a wide margin β plus there’s no recovery bill because we come to you rather than the car going to them. Give us the registration and we’ll quote a fixed price.
Do you program the key to my car, or just cut it?
Both. A key that’s only cut won’t start a modern car β it has to be programmed to the immobiliser. We cut the blade and code the transponder and remote so it works exactly like your original.
How quickly can you get to me?
Often the same day. Spares are usually done on the spot in under an hour; call with your registration and postcode and we’ll give you an honest arrival window anywhere in Surrey.
Which makes do you cover?
The vast majority of cars, vans and light commercials on UK roads. Tell us the make, model and year and we’ll confirm before we set off.
Do you cover vans and commercials?
Yes β vans and light commercials are a big part of what we do, including spare keys and lost-key jobs for tradespeople who can’t afford downtime.
ECU Cloning
What exactly is ECU cloning?
It’s copying all the data β coding, immobiliser information and mileage β from your original engine ECU onto a replacement unit, so the clone is an exact match for your car. It drops straight in and the car runs on your existing keys, with no dealer programming needed.
Why not just fit a new ECU from the dealer?
A dealer unit is blank: it has to be programmed to your car and matched to the immobiliser, which is hours of labour, and it’s expensive. A clone carries your car’s identity already, so it’s plug-and-play, faster and much cheaper.
Will my keys and immobiliser still work?
Yes β that’s the main advantage. Because the immobiliser data is cloned across, your existing keys carry on working and there’s no re-sync to pay for.
What if my original ECU is completely dead?
If we can’t read a totally failed unit, there are still options β a virgin replacement programmed to your car, or key/ECU matching. We assess it on-site and give you the most cost-effective route before doing anything.
Is my mileage preserved?
Yes, the stored mileage is cloned across with the rest of the data, so your car’s records stay consistent.
How long does it take and do you come to me?
It’s mobile, done at your address anywhere in Surrey, and often completed the same day depending on the vehicle.
Van Security Locks
What’s the difference between a deadlock and a slam lock?
A deadlock adds a heavy separate bolt you lock manually with a key, completely independent of the factory lock β great overnight security. A slam lock secures the door automatically the moment it shuts, so it’s ideal for multi-drop and site work where you’re in and out all day. Many vans benefit from both.
Can you fit locks after I’ve been broken into?
Yes β that’s one of our most common jobs. We replace any damaged locks and add deadlocks, slam locks and anti-peel protection so it’s far harder to hit you again. We can usually get you secure again quickly.
Do you protect against keyless and OBD theft?
We can, yes. As well as physical door locks we fit protection for the OBD diagnostic port and other electronic entry points that thieves use to clone keys or bypass security.
Which vans do you cover?
All the common ones β Transit and Transit Custom, Vivaro, Sprinter, Transporter, Berlingo, Partner, Ducato, Boxer, Relay and more. Tell us the van and year and we’ll confirm the right locks.
How long does fitting take?
Most setups take one to two hours depending on how many doors and locks are involved. It’s all done at your address or yard.
Do you come to me?
Yes β we fit everything mobile at your home, yard or workplace anywhere in Surrey, at a time that suits your working day.
Car Diagnostics
My warning light is on β can you find out why?
Yes. We read the fault codes as a starting point, then use live data and component testing to work out what’s actually causing the light β which is often not the part the code first points at. You get a clear answer, not a guess.
Isn’t that just plugging in a code reader?
No. A cheap code reader gives you a code and nothing else. We use dealer-level equipment to read live data across every system, test components and trace wiring, which is what separates finding the real fault from swapping parts and hoping.
What can you diagnose?
Engine management, ABS and traction, airbag/SRS, and electrical and comfort systems β plus running problems like misfires, rough idling and power loss. If the car is misbehaving, we can usually pin down why.
Can you fix it there and then?
Sometimes β minor faults we can often put right on the spot. For bigger jobs you get a clear diagnosis and an honest fixed quote so you can decide how to proceed.
How much does a diagnostic cost?
It’s a fixed call-out price agreed before we come, so there are no surprises. Call with your registration and a description of the problem for a quote.
Do you come to me?
Yes β it’s a mobile service at your home or workplace anywhere in Surrey, and being able to test the car where the fault happens is often a real advantage.
Immobiliser & Module Repair
My car won’t start and I’ve been told it’s the immobiliser β can you help?
Very often, yes. A no-start with everything else working is frequently a repairable fault in the immobiliser or its communication with the ECU, rather than a reason to replace expensive parts. We diagnose it properly first, then repair the original unit.
What’s a BSI and can you repair it?
The BSI (body systems interface) is the body-control module that manages much of a car’s electrics β common on French makes especially. When it faults it throws all sorts of electrical gremlins. We repair BSI units at component level rather than replacing and recoding them.
Can you reset an airbag module after an accident?
Yes. After a crash the airbag/SRS module usually stores crash data and lights the airbag warning. We can reset the module so the light clears β far cheaper than a new unit, and done without main-dealer programming.
Why repair a module instead of replacing it?
A repair keeps your original unit and its coding, so there’s nothing to reprogram and no immobiliser re-sync β and it’s typically a fraction of the cost of a dealer replacement fitted and coded.
Which modules do you repair?
Immobilisers, BSI/body-control units, airbag/SRS modules, and many comfort and convenience modules. Tell us the make, model and symptoms and we’ll confirm whether it’s one we handle.
Do you come to me?
Yes β we diagnose at your home or workplace anywhere in Surrey, and either repair on-site or collect, repair and refit depending on the module.
Ghost Immobiliser Installation
What is a Ghost immobiliser?
It’s a small electronic immobiliser that connects to your car’s data network and requires a personal PIN sequence β entered using buttons you already have β before the engine will start. There’s no key fob and no LED, so a thief has no idea it’s fitted until the car won’t move.
Will it stop keyless and relay theft?
Yes β that’s exactly what it’s designed for. Relay attacks capture your key’s signal to start the car, but a Ghost demands your secret PIN sequence on top of that, so the car won’t start even if thieves fool the keyless system or hold your actual key.
Do I need to carry an extra fob or tag?
No. The Ghost works through buttons already in your car and, on the current version, a smartphone app β so there’s nothing extra to carry, lose or have cloned from your driveway.
Can I still let a garage or valet use my car?
Yes. There’s a temporary valet/service mode that lets someone move or service the car without knowing your permanent sequence, which you re-secure afterwards.
Which cars and vans can have one fitted?
The vast majority of modern CAN-bus cars and vans. Tell us the make, model and year and we’ll confirm compatibility and a fixed price before we come out.
Is it hidden, and can thieves just remove it?
It’s installed discreetly out of sight and, because it works through the car’s data network rather than one obvious wire, there’s no simple component for a thief to find and cut to bypass it.
